1. About this policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the ScreenSeek mobile application
(com.loh.screenseek) accesses and handles information. In this
policy, “ScreenSeek,” “the app,” “we,” and “us” refer to the ScreenSeek
application and its developer.
2. Information processed by ScreenSeek
To provide its search and organization features, ScreenSeek may access and process the following information on your device:
- Screenshots and related media details, such as file name, path, album, dimensions, and creation or modification time.
- Text recognized in screenshots and the position of that text within an image.
- QR codes found in screenshots, including their contents and position.
- Whether one or more faces are present in a screenshot and their approximate location. ScreenSeek does not identify individuals, compare faces, create biometric templates, or perform facial recognition.
- Search indexes, image fingerprints, smart collections, settings, and other preferences needed for the app to work.
- Purchase and subscription information, an anonymous customer identifier, and limited device and operating-system information used to provide and manage ScreenSeek Pro.
3. How information is used
ScreenSeek uses this locally processed information to:
- find and display screenshots that match your searches;
- filter screenshots by content, time, QR code, or face presence;
- organize screenshots into collections;
- avoid unnecessary repeated scanning; and
- remember your app settings.
4. Local screenshot processing
ScreenSeek does not upload your screenshots or local search index to the developer's servers. The app does not require an account and does not include advertising. We do not sell, rent, or share your screenshots, recognized text, search queries, QR code contents, or face-detection results with third parties.
If you choose to share recognized text, ScreenSeek opens your device's standard sharing interface. The content is sent only to the app or service you select, and that destination's privacy practices apply.
5. Purchases and RevenueCat
ScreenSeek uses RevenueCat as a service provider to offer, validate, restore, and manage ScreenSeek Pro purchases. RevenueCat receives purchase history, store transaction or receipt information, an automatically generated anonymous customer identifier, and limited technical information such as device type and operating system. This information is used for app functionality, fraud prevention, customer support, and purchase analytics.
ScreenSeek does not send screenshots, recognized text, searches, QR code contents, or face-detection results to RevenueCat. For more information, see RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
6. Photo and media permissions
ScreenSeek requests access to photos or media so it can find, scan, display, and manage screenshots. On supported Android versions, you may grant access only to selected photos. Limiting access may reduce the screenshots available to search.
If you ask ScreenSeek to delete a screenshot, the app uses the operating system's confirmation flow before deletion. ScreenSeek does not delete a screenshot without your action and confirmation where the operating system requires it.
7. Storage and retention
The search index, detected content, collections, and preferences are stored locally in the app's private storage on your device. They remain there until you clear or rebuild the index, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app. Your original screenshots remain in your photo library unless you choose to delete them.
Purchase records are retained by the applicable app store and RevenueCat in accordance with their policies and as needed to maintain access to purchases, process restorations, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations.
8. Your choices
You can control ScreenSeek's access and locally stored information by:
- changing photo and media permissions in your device settings;
- granting access to selected photos where your device supports it;
- clearing or rebuilding the local screenshot index in the app;
- deleting individual screenshots through the app's confirmed deletion flow;
- clearing ScreenSeek's app data; or
- uninstalling ScreenSeek.
9. Children's privacy
ScreenSeek is not designed to collect personal information from children. Because processing occurs locally and no account is required, the developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.
10. Security
Keeping processing and the search index on your device limits transmission of screenshot data. You are responsible for protecting access to your device and for choosing which other apps or services receive content that you explicitly share.
11. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when ScreenSeek's features or privacy practices change. The latest version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
